Hey folks,

our gallery submissions are a bit out of control. there are some in there that have been sitting since Jan. awaiting responses from the submitters for more info or what not.

with diedre out for a bit, does anyone mind if I take a heavy hand and clean some of it out?

I was thinking along the lines of looking at and taking care of submissions most recent first (perhaps back to May) and then making a quickie check for anything waiting for more info that is really old. The system automatically makes you send an email if you reject a submission. I was thinking of a *form response* with the guidlines needed for approval to fill in for the ones I chuck. Perhaps that email will jolt some members memories and they will re-submit once they get that email.

Anyone not wanting me to take care of this in this manner?

Dude, I will be your best friend and biggest fan if you feel like taking this on. I just posted in the gallery forum that I need about three more days to pack and play catch up on orders, then I can sit down and devote some serious time to the backlog. Any portion, no matter how small, you want to work on would be awesome.

I'll do the best I can. Smile

I have written the following form letter to paste into the auto email for the ones that I reject.

Dear MAIL Member,
I apologize for this form letter, I wish I had time to personalize each

one. Your Gallery submission has not met with the approval guidelines

for one or more of the following reasons listed below. Please, feel free

to resubmit your photo, and to make things smoother, double check to see

if it has these areas met.
1. Photo is clear and easy to see the object being photographed.
2. Statistics. We need to have weave(s) used, ring size, wire size, and

if possible metal type used in your description. (there are alot of folks

who like to recreate items they see in the gallery.)
3. Please keep additional comments to less than a book in length. Wink

And, please remember, don't use your back button if you are submitting more than one photo. The first submission can be overwritten.
In addition, only click the submit button once. The server moves at the speed of a greased turtle at times, and clicking it more than once will give you multiple submissions of the same photo.

Thanks for your submission and patience. Smile
Rygar

gonna go get started on a few now. Smile

okay...all done for tonite.

was lenient for a couple of submissions. I.E this one persons very first maille. had all but ring ID (I think), that sort of thing.

There are a couple of folks with LOTS of submissions. didn't remove them, instead, PMed again asking for stats. (I know I wouldn't want to resubmit those all over again!! Surprised ) I gave Pheonix a couple days to submit stats, or else I would reject them and ask for resubmittal.

Hope that helps. Smile

I'll check back again in a day or two. Smile

If rejecting more than one photo from a person, for the same reason (all taken with camera phone, there's no maille, etc.), I just pm once for the bunch. There's a checkbox to let you not have to send a pm.

Yeah, he's known about it for over two months and apparently doesn't care.

The reason I gave a couple days is because there was a very recent submission. If there is no reply by this weekend..I'll take care of them and he'll recieve a *form* letter for each one. Wink

Look, I took care of something! They're all gone now.

Just another FYI, I'm unexpectedly on the road again, this time till Sunday. *sigh* I'm really tired of traveling.
