since you doing it giant make the ring smaller,,make it look more impresive that way...ahh how about 16g 5/16 and 18g 3/16? they work realy well for DS.

16g 1/4 and 3/8 is very common. I've seen most DS with that size.

Uhh... the sizes Magnum X has suggested do not work for me..
Im using Brite Al. for the big rings and Ano Al. for the small rings.

My gues is that you two have some springback to help you,

i suggest moving to tesserex's size. its more common and you dont need spring back for it to work confortably

By any chance does anyone know how to connect sheets of DS, on thier verticle and horizontal grains? without htat knowledge and skill, it not possible to be completely DS

Yup i see i just made my sizes out of a softer wire and it don't work..my bad on that, Tesserex size just seems to big to me, though. How about 18g 5/16ths and 18g 3/16, i think that sould fixe the spring bak problem of my previouse sugestion. im currently out of 18g could some one give it go for me.

oh and i know how to connect DS, i'll make up a tut for it and sub it asap

I can't imagine needing springback for that one to work. I actually managed to get a little bit done with 5/16 and 3/16 both in 16g, but it choked up after five rows and became a second finger ring. It was 3/4 stainless though, so there was a good amount of springback.

I find that is very difficult to join DS... I've done it in 20g 3/16 and 1/8 and it wasn't pretty to connect...
I guess with enough paitence (not my strong suit) it is possible Smile Good luck with your project!

forgive me but. WHAT THE HECK IS DS? It must be some kind of weave but ?I really don't know. I would like to participate but I can't All my money and rings are going into my own chess set. hehe!! and coif. Not sure how big I am going to make mine though. I was thinking the pieces would be like three or so inches tall. Anyway. Bonum fortunam on your giant chess set. (some day we need to make a gigantor set were the pieces are like 3 feet tall. I have an awesome imagination! But if all the Maillie artisans got together we could do it!!!)
