Blaise: were you serious when you said optimal aspect ratio for hoodoo is 3?? I'm wanted to make some, but an AR of three is like 14ga with 3/16 ID.

for Hoodoo Chain, the AR should be 3. For Hoodoo, you have to use at least an AR of 4...

3 just seems to be a really tight AR to me.

It is incredibly tight, I agree. Hoodoo's a hard weave to make, for that reason only...

And it's very sensitive to AR, too. 2.9 doesn't work at all, and 3.2 falls apart. For the sheet weave, 3.8 is too tight, and 4.1 falls apart.

Oh and FYI, for 3/16" rings, 16 SWG would give you an AR of almost exactly 3. That's what I prototyped with.
