I know this is the place to ask Very Happy

I just need some help with ring sizes... Is there a specific ring size that works with graduating Large to med scales, and med to small?

Thanks!!!

Waiting for someone more experienced to post but I'll give my 2 cents in the meantime.

Because of the nature of scalemaille it won't be a one size fits all. Each scale size requires specific sized rings to be able to lay flat and to move properly. Too small a ring size and your scales will get bunched up, too large and it won't hold its shape nicely or you'll start seeing gaps.

While I personally have no attempted something like this beyond a simple strip for earrings, the pieces I have seen that looked the best (IMO) were pieces that went from larger to smaller. Assuming you're working on a larger piece I'd make sections and then stitch them together.

Though I guess it ultimately depends on what you want to make.

Honestly... I thought there were only large and small scales. Shows how much I know. This sounds like a trial and error situation. I hope you get better answers.
