A few weeks ago I saw a photo online of a chain maille neck tie that looked really sharp. I decided to make it as a gift for my son's 22nd birthday. I couldn't wait to try it. I ordered rings from The Ring Lord and waited for them with bated breath. Alas, after much waiting, I realized that the package had been stolen out of my mail box (along with credit card bills, etc.)! What a drag. I re-ordered and got right to work on the tie. As soon as I began to weave the metal, I knew that I was hooked. Now, I'm watching tutorials and learning different weaves. Looking at pictures of creations by other maillers and getting inspiration for projects.

Years ago I had spontaneous memories of a past life spent in armor. Working with maille resonates with whatever piece of that existence still resides in me.
