Hi, I'm Frann. I've been making chainmaille since 1999, (insert Prince song reference). I started assisting an armorist making pieces of Euro 4 in 1 for hauberks. I made my first hauberk in 2000, and it's been love ever since. I switched to jewelry in 2005 when I found out you could buy rings, and in many types of metal and colors. I had been coiling 16 and 14 gauge aluminum and was tired of it.

I've been referring to this site for about 5 years now and find the information invaluable.

1999? Yay! Roughly the same time I started!
Maybe a bit before or after (it is all a blur these days)

Anyway yes. It is not when you start or when you appear on the boards that really matters. It's all about how much fun your having making a pretty thing right this moment!

For the things we make today echo in history. We will not last, the metal we turn in these days of flesh and folly will however.

They are our statement to the future. Our time machine. Now that, is a cool hobby to have. Very Happy

Welcome and well come, Thearmourman. Do you like to do shirts? Are you a SCAdian? A riveter?
