This does remind me of a medal I made recently;

The Geyveema Medal. A medal given to someone who has recently made a medal above and beyond the call of duty reason or sense. Smile

I forgot to display my candy cane badge last season. Maybe the war on Christmas should start early this year! Also, my birthday is Dec. 25th. Kind of ironic actually. Very Happy

Speaking of medals. I notice they don't link anywhere.

It seems a pity, if someone has all these bright shiny thinks then it would be lovely if they took you directly to the stunning work they were awarded for.

Has my pragmatic side flopped out again?

I do apologise, I'll just tuck that back in..... Now where were we? Oh yes.

I don't think we should single people out for being essentially human. To quote your fine self; none of us are immune to frivolity:

"I like my badges, i am a special snowflake"

I would be so much easier if we stoically stuck to the task of maille. No divergence, pure, simple and efficient. Then I think we would be sacrificing something incalculable. The hand that holds the pliers, the skin behind the steel. The idiom behind the form.

Yes some of us are trivial and bloody annoying at times. But I would strongly argue; necessary. Very Happy
