Armpits, or no armpits?

Alright, I've been working on a scale shirt and I've come to the armpits. Any suggestions on whether I should try to close the armpits, or just widen the scale shirt a bit and make a separate set of voiders. I was also thinking of taking the voiders down to 3/4 sleeves and maybe trying my hand with leather and scales over the forearms.

I recommend voiders... Scales in the armpits is owie.

The only reason i would leave the armpits open is if there is a lack of flexibility because of the link size or weave chosen. since making euro with 16swg 5/16 is very flexible i would say fill the armpits with maille, not scalemaille though.

Well it's already kind of tight with nothing there. If you look at the edge I had already started adding E4-1, and after a few rows it started getting much tighter, though I guess I could widen the shirt where it meets the sleeve.

it will be harder to lift up your arms if you do closed pits that arnt baggy. maybe leave it the way is looks pretty damn good Smile or even just V up the section you've already been working on but still leave the pits open.

I'd personally leave the pits as is, it also makes it much more breathable wearing it in the summer.

As for extending the arms, I'm all for it, I love the look of leather on the forearms. Even just making (or having someone make) leather bracers and you lining the top of it with scales would be awesome.
