A small thing I noticed

I noticed this small issue with the uploader while uploading my Hourglass Tetrahedron unit to the library.

When pressing preview I got to a M.A.I.L. error site in which this could be read:
"Image Upload Script returned an error. (Could Not Copy: Hourglass Tetrahedron 1.JPG. Spaces in Filename)
You MUST upload a JPEG (*.jpg) image under 100Kb.
Press Back, and try again."

So the natural thing to do is to go back and try again. No luck this time either. Same message.

Then I read a bit more in-depth and noticed this particular sentence: "Spaces in Filename" and went into my computer library and removed the spaces. Voilá! Now it worked. The images are now waiting for their approval.

Despite that, I wanted to ask if it is a random occurrance? It has never happened before and previous images I've uploaded with spaces have worked, which I find very odd. Is it a new thing added with recent site modifications? If it is, please make sure that the sentence is easier to spot directly.

I mean, it isn't hidden but the first thing I noticed was the "You MUST upload a JPEG (*.jpg) image under 100Kb.
Press Back, and try again." and of course went back and tried again.

Very Happy

Wasn't the webhost changed recently? Maybe the OS's differs in the way their respective filesystems handle spaces in filepaths, or something similar?

The thing about spaces has been in there since I can remember. It could be that there were no spaces in your previous submissions and you didn't realize.

That could certainly be the case. I don't know much about it though.

I noticed the error just before creating the topic. Before posting I also made sure to search through my old creations on my computer and found that they all contained spaces in their filename, which I haven't changed post-upload. Might have been a strange coincidence that they weren't errorred back when I sent them into orbit though.

I did also try to repost the old Alligator Back bracelet I uploaded some months ago and now it won't get up, so there must be a new thing that at least modified the uploader.

Yeah...

Due to the way our webhost and PHP interact, spaces in filenames are either:
a) Easy to deal with
OR
b) Break things

Depending on the day/week/cycle of the moon.

I finally got sick of it, and input a check for it.
I will bold the error message.
