The contest has been open for entries for a while, and the arbitrary date I set has passed, so it's time to start voting. Below are the entries under consideration, in their most basic form. Variations in color or maybe background effects are (for the purpose of this vote) considered the same design, so if you really want the designs to have a specific color, say so in the comments please.
Personally I'd prefer them to be simpler so we can do some quick color changes to make them look better on different color items, but do weigh in.

The entries: (in order of submission)

  • Aged Wordmark

  • M.A.I.L. Crest

  • Inlay

  • Mobi-logo

  • Woven Name

  • Embossed Wordmark with Ring

  • Embossed Wordmark without Ring

  • Etched Ring

As I mentioned before, at least the top two entries (depending on vote spread) entries will be printed at CafePress, and the one that actually sells the most in a month or two will win the designer a free item from the M.A.I.L. CafePress store. Please vote for your favorite in terms of the raw design, and just make note of things like color schemes in the comments.
This poll will run through Feb 5th.

I must say that while my vote went for the embossed woodmark with ring, I do really like the woven name because it allows for much more freedom of color variation. Just my 2 rings, of course. Wink

I have to admit it was a hard choice. While I really like the Wordmark with the ring I voted for the woven name. Just because it shows what our art is as well as advertise the group.

my 2 rings worth

Yeah, but see, the embossed one has the one ring behind it, making it inherently cool. Coif LoL Very Happy

That was the intention.
Of course other people may have a better idea of what type of color might be well applied to it... I have come up with a few examples. (note: they can be applied to any of the non-colored images as well)

Bronze
Dirty Aluminum
Tie-Dye
Progressive Anodization
Google-Colors

I'm personally a fan of the bronze-ish color and dirty aluminum for the darker colored backgrounds for clothing, while a white background might favor a brighter aluminum color.

The blue/grey colors that djgm picked out would be an excellent match for the forums (When I was mapping that color mixture, it can be found here)

Keep in mind that if you want a different color style, cshake said in the beginning that you should toss in a comment about it (be an example from my list, or one of your own).

Of course, my largest gripe with the woven submission that I made is that it is much wider than it is tall... which could possibly be fixed by adding text below it, but alas I never got around to doing that.
*Edit, added text and can be viewed here.

Any update on this? Confused Tomorrow it'll be 2 months to the day after the voting was set to end. I keep checking the related threads to see if any more progress has been made. This post shouldn't be read as accusatory, more akin to hopeful for updated M.A.I.L goodies.
