so, i had this idea that i could maybe make some viking knit chain, put it through a drawplate, and put some wire in it, through the center, then make eache bit into a ring, and make a shirt... i recently found out about viking knit, and you know how it is... you just want to take things to an extreme... any thoughts?

Insanity is a sign of a good mailler. If you never try, there can not be success.

Being one of the few maillers here that made and showed already maille-maille pieces I CAN tell, that it would be insane to make more than relatively low ring count show pieces - even if the rings were not made from maille but were 'only' viking knit...

Human societies are like chain mail.
A single link will be worth nothing.
A chain is of use, but will break at the weakest link.
A weak weave will have the need to replace weak links.
A strong weave will survive even with weak links included.

That sounds like absolute frustration, but I would be curious to see what that looked like...I just cannot picture it in my head!!

You could try making some sort of viking knit armor in miniature scale. For a lego man, etc.
