Okay, there have been a couple of inqueries about what is already planned for the future of MAIL. And since a lot of the requests popping up lately in the Feature Requests thread, I thought I'd put a post together documenting all the planned changes.
I will be updating the FIRST POST in this thread with any more inclusions if and when they become part of the grand plan, but feel free to reply to this post with any questions or comments you may have on any of the features.
For 'Feature Requests' please use the other thread Here.
The list (In no particular order):
- Updated/Expanded Weaves Library including:
==- Weave 'Family Tree' allowing users to trace the weaves individual aspects
==- Min/Max/Ideal Aspect Ratio information (Searchable)
==- Tutorial/Article links
==- Display of several Gallery Items 'tagged' as using this weave
- Articles/Gallery Section to include 'tagging' and links to the forums for 'comments/questions'
- phpBB Upgrade to 3.x
==- Forum Features to change based on base package installed
==- More Forum Features, but I will refrain from listing, just trust me it'll be Legen... Wait for it...
- Expanded User Info pages (Already partially implimented)
- Re-redesigned Homepage (Same style will be kept, just cleaned up/expanded on to take advantage of new features)
- Move of the entire site from Perl to PHP, to DEcrease load times, as well as speed up SQL Database access. (Already partially complete)
- Ability to add Weaves/Gallery Posts/Articles to a 'Favourites' list... To compare items, or store for later viewing.
- Mobile/Low-Bandwidth site http://m.mailleartisans.org to come into existance, basically a stripped down version of the main site.
- No more login issues
- Rejigged Search feature for the entire site.
- LASERBEAMS?!

What about DEcreased load times? - I would prefer that...
