Alright...

Far from making this another April Fools joke, or promising the moon and the stars, but never getting there...

I've slowly been making progress on MAIL 3.0 (Shocking, I know...) Mostly libraries, and database stuff... As well as pulling the bits and bobs together...

ANYWAY...

I've finally ported over the index page... Made a couple of slight adjustments... It should load faster than the old index, as well as be a lot kinder on the server.

[EDIT: It is now the current default homepage]

Yes, I know, it looks mostly the same Smile I warned you most of the changes were 'back end' stuff... BUT it logs in and out cleanly, remembers your phpBB login, and all that fun stuff Very Happy

not necessarily. i was in the car for 6 hours today, in twin 3 hour segments, in between which was another 6 hours at a 1 yr old's birthday party in another state. i exhausted, and am not very observant to begin with (christmas 08 a lady was attacked on my street by my neighbor's pitt bull. my parents got her inside and police and animal control came and etc a whole 2-3 hour event. i was 3 rooms away from the front room and didnt find out about it for 3 months)

I did notice one difference actually (besides the one I already pointed out). In the "Avatar (For Board)" section, it used to say "Current Avatar: None", but now it says "Current Avatar: none". The "n" is no longer capitalized. I didn't mention it before because I didn't think it mattered. Still don't, actually. Other than those two things, the page looks exactly the same.

Had a random thought the other day, dealing with weaves. And yes it is generally bad when I start that way.

I tend to keep my TV on science type shows. I think it was about biology or something. I was thinking, what the opinion would be on a scientific classification based on the anatomy of the weaves. I was thinking it might reduce the 'clutter' in the weave library. Searching weaves would be similar to how it is now. If you're looking up European weaves, you click that, then you can either scroll through the whole list. Or select from a list of options at the top of the page to narrow down the search.

Classes: European, Persian, Oriental, Spiral, Unit.
Connection type.
Orders: Ring sizes used: 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. And are they required.

Families: How the weave repeats V4, Byzantine, E4, Half Persian, Tao, Not Tao

Genuses: Chain, Sheet, Unit, is it expanded, or can it be expanded

Species: Trizintine, Vendetta

Subspecies: 4, 10, etc Connections per ring

This list is just kinda off the top of the head, and it may end up being too restrictive of a way to organize things. Just figured I would share the idea and see what everyone thought. Not to mention I'm not sure I am happy with the current Genus, but a concept of how it could be laid out.
