Human societies are like chain mail.
A single link will be worth nothing.
A chain is of use, but will break at the weakest link.
A weak weave will have the need to replace weak links.
A strong weave will survive even with weak links included.

So, just seven of us?
I know there's more admins out there! What's up?

what's up is we should have a BOD mailler that gets sent out when a vote gets posted, "get off it and click a button, you slacker."
most people don't check the forums.. or participate at all, really. a nudge might help.. or we just accept that 8-12 votes is all we're ever going to get.
also, haines is awesome. also, also.. when i leave there will be more maillers in the world.

Well, at 8 "yes", 0 "no", and 0 "abstain", I'm calling this one passed.
Who would like the honor of stickying it in the weaves forum? Perhaps our newest board member?

Hey, a "BOD mail" when votes go up would be a nifty idea. I've been working non-stop on a film premiere and my own site for 2 weeks, haven't checked in here in over a week, and almost missed another vote, woops! My bad for not checking in sooner, but if we did have a mass e-mail to BOD members saying "come vote!" that would be super awesome. |

Well, I renew my proposal that it might be good to look into the possibility, that ALL admins are set to 'auto-watch' all newly created threads in forum's admin areas - It's clear that anyone is free to 'unwatch' topics (s)he thinks not to be involved in. But so all admins would get a 'heads-up' for all admin affairs as they are notified that there is something they should maybe participate in.

if it is implemented, this should be an option that one could 'opt in' on.. if i check my email i check the admin forum, even if i don't have time for anything else.
i really don't want my inbox clogged with new topic notifications that i i'm going to go look for anyway.

Kim: Sorry that I have to disagree in this case. We admins already 'opted in' to be admins - and it is imho an obligation for admins to be informed of admin affairs. Don't forget: the 'opt-out' for personally irrelevant stuff would always remain.
If it was my decision what to code, I would go even farther, and give the possibility - this time as an opt-in - that admins could be chose to be autosubscribed for topics/topic groups they are assigned to or interested in; e.g. Gallery people to all Gallery threads, etc., or forum moderators for their moderated forums.
BTW: The 'argument' with clogged eMail inboxes is not valid for me, as these occasional 'mandatory' notifications of new admin forum threads are surely no mailbox clogging, compared to the masses of spam that are daily in our mailboxes. But I think it's not necessary to discuss this much further, as long as we don't know if that or functionally similar is possible to code at all.
