I personally like to see stats in gallery and weave submissions. I think that if one was to require stats, I'd put it in weaves. I usually ask for stats on a piece, just to help me get an idea of what the piece would feel/move/hang/etc like.

I'll rise, but I won't shine.

So I may repeat - maybe a bit 'clarified'.

Weaves: Stats required - as there is told a constructive 'principle', with the basic goal to be reproducible.
Gallery: Stats encouraged to publish, but not required - as here is shown a particular piece, not necessarily thought to enable copies.

Undocumented weaves are imho not worth to behold, if they lack necessary information, while for a single piece shown it suffices to be a 'fine example of craftmanship'. If someone else re-creates a weave that was formerly denied due to lacking info (original maybe having been published in gallery, forum post or at another site or even medium), and does submit it WITH stats, I even wouldn't object this 2nd creator claiming 'ownership' - but I think that wouldn't happen anyway, and surely credit to the original creator would be given. But that's clearly my own, very personal opinion.

Human societies are like chain mail.
A single link will be worth nothing.
A chain is of use, but will break at the weakest link.
A weak weave will have the need to replace weak links.
A strong weave will survive even with weak links included.
