I don't understand why we would reject this currently in the queue:

when we have accepted all or these:

There is nothing in the gallery submission guidelines that prohibits putting the name of your website on your gallery subs.

No, there is nothing in the guidelines that say you can't have a web address on the pic; almost all of my pics have my (now defunct) web addy on them. HOWEVER, the comment I left in the queue is in regards to the submitters description of their item. It is clear their only motivation for submitting the item in question is to generate traffic for their site. For reference, here is their current description: "Maille Haubergeon 8th to the 14th Century Historical Armouries manufacturers of authentic and functional historical arms and armour. www.historicalarmouries.com "

Unfortunately the comments section in the approval area does not allow for a lot of discussion. In short, I was not referring to the watermark, but to their description. I'm fairly certain that when I sent out the e-mail to all the new gallery admins I addressed this as well. But, if I didn't, then at least it's being addressed now.

Really this didn't need a thread, you could have just pm'd me for clarification.

Sorry Deirdre, didn't see anything about that in my "shackle letter". I did see "Do not be shy about voicing your opinion in the Admin Forum!" Again, sorry. I'll know better next time.

No worries, it's just a non issue that didn't really need a thread. If you disagreed with my reasoning after a private discussion, that would have been the time to bring it up with the admins as a whole.

Not to butt in, but if you want my opinion, this submission is unacceptable because it is blatant advertising!

I can accept putting a website in your photo just fine. I can even accept putting a plug for your site in the description. What irks me is that a) there's no description at all, just the plug, and b) the title of the blasted thing is their website.

Since you can't necessarily see what it is from the thumbnail in most submissions, a name with no descriptive qualities at all means no one knows what they are looking at until after they wast the time viewing the entry. This seems to me to be a simple, blatant attempt to get the web address in front of as many eyes as possible.

If it were just the title by itself, but I might let it slide, but I wouldn't like it. Throw in the lack of description, and it's trash. The extra advertising in the photo, that's just gravy.

This submission does nothing to contribute to our library, and benefits only the advertiser...
