I made a length out of 1/2" i.d. 10 gauge copper. It's pretty nice looking but I want to make it tighter....like ALMOST too tight.
What would be a good combination for this? |

I believe with 17G you have to go around 1/4"ID to get that effect. it looks good in 18G 6mm Silver too. I love playing around with byzantine, it is the first weave I learned and it has so many possibliities. I especially like to break up the units a bit with one ring between them of a slightly bigger ID./ I am going to try captive byz soon You can check out my profile for at least a couple of possibilities

Bative, that is a really nice chain in your profile pic. That is one of my favorite ring-v-guage sizes for Byz |

Some Byz combos I like are:
5/32" ID x 18 gauge -- very slightly floppy, but not bad
3/16" ID x 16 gauge -- holds shape really well and it is still flexible |

folding ID 1/2" 14 ga. byzantine back on itself then crosslinking it bias japanese style with ID 1/8" 18 ga gives you a very interesting base unit to play with...
