I feel I should elaborate a bit more on the Compass Rose. It’s not all that bad. Once the captives are firmly placed, they’re at least somewhat secure. It takes a bit of force to get them out. I carried one around for a day in my pocket with also a bunch of keys- like 10 or so. It stayed intact. It would probably be fine as a pendant, but if it got struck, or fell to the floor, the captives could dislodge. It’s very ring size specific, and the size of the captives should be as big OD-wise as they can. Funny and coincidental that 2 standard ring sizes (i.e. not going down to /128, /64, or even /32) plus nominal ID increase due to springback happen to make it work.

I changed the listed ideal ARs, since they were a bit shy. Begrudgingly, though, as I don’t agree that multiple wire diameter-using entries should have ANY AR data listed. But that’s a different discussion for a different day. Or probably has come up before.

Regarding multiple wire sizes, I wholeheartedly agree.

While weaves such as dragonscale make it quite obvious that multiple AR are necessary, inherently; I cannot recall any weave that requires multiple wire sizes by nature.

Devil's Stitch

Jokes aside, the only situation that would require multiple wire sizes would be one that has a cousin interaction similar to Jens Pind Linkage (an interaction sensitive to WD and ID). I don't think there exists a weave that meets that criteria yet.

I also noticed Compass Rose is not tagged as Captive. Was that an oversight?

Yes. It's rather clear that the central rings are captive.

ugh.

That weave is one of the ones I forget as soon as possible.

That, and a few other weaves, are so... special ...I force myself to forget them.

I just made a 10 unit long Hoodoo chain. Measured AR 2.9.

I measured most of the rings with a digital caliper. This piece is more prone to moving than My 3.0 AR silver bracelet.
