Thanks for helping.

This is just what I was getting at.

I expected the highlighted rings to form an E4:1 connection exemplified in Gridlock

Ah, so if I'm understanding, you're thinking of an extra ring added. And if I'm following correctly, people who have tried this have ended up with Dukkha 4 in 1 Chain?

No extra ring, just existing rings having an additional connection.

Okay, I think I understand what you guys are saying. I went back and connected the "zipper rings" in the style of E 4-in-1 and here is what I got, which IMO looks better:

I may be imagining it, but I think this linkage makes the front look a little neater:

I'd think that this is it, and is not Dukkha. I'm not sure how to build this in accordance with the description (adding florets), but it's not really a chain I want to learn how to build like that (at this time)...

Yup. That would be what I would have made for Persian Box.
Still doesn't have one interaction I mentioned in this post.
The front does look a bit neater, because there used to be rings in the back angling out (which are now pulled straight).

I may recommend tossing these last images into the gallery for a sample.

Does it need to -- am I missing something?

Also: I was looking at your post, with the excellent color-coding images, and noticed that in the Dukkha sample, the yellow and teal rings are lined up (as are the purple and green rings). In the Persian Box sample, the yellow ring does not line up neatly with the teal ring -- it is slightly offset. Same thing for the purple and green rings.

When I get a chance, I will see if I can do a similar color-coding image with the pictures of the back of Dukkha and the back of my sample.

I think I will do that, but once I actually understand what's going on and am more sure that my sample is actually correct. I've been thinking about purchasing a colored ring sampler, also, so that I can execute the seven "axes" of Persian Box -- and maybe a Dukkha sample for contrast -- in different colors. But that would be a longish-term project (maybe in a month or so); got a lot going on, craft-wise! : )

Thank you all for your help and support -- I am learning a lot!

No, I was re-stating that despite the change you made, the distinguishing interaction between the two weaves was still present.

I keep thinking about writing an article about how I do the coloring of rings on images. It's actually quite easy once you know what to use. Maybe knowing that would hinder playing with colorful rings, though.

I just got confirmation from the original submitter of Half Persian 3 in 1 Column that Hilt Chain is a copy of it.

I would likely find this useful.
