I have many high quality digital photos of my maille work over the years, and would like to submit many of them for the gallery. Can someone suggest a good way to knock the size down to meet the 100k requirement? I do not have Photoshop. Perhaps there is an easy way I do not know about. I would like to share the images with the community if possible. Your advise would be appreciated. Confused

There are these articles for using GIMP.

Just to key in on the specific step in the article:
Editing an image in GIMP; so it can be used on the M.A.I.L. site.
Step ~66% of the way down (exporting the image).

That "quality" slider is how much the jpeg compression will slightly tweak the image to make it more compressible. Typically, differences are not easily visible all the way down a jpeg quality of ~70. Most of my images on MAIL are in the 75-85 range (because they're on a less-compressible background).

If that ends up ruining the visual appearance of the image, you should consider non-digital means of setting up the compress-ability.
Background content is important.
Take images on as plain backgrounds as possible. Ranging from less compressible to more...
Confetti -> Carpet -> Wood/Granite -> Tile -> Paper/Plastic/Other Solid color.

while(!project.isFinished())
project.addRing();
