Indeed it is about the challenge. But with a theme of "no theme", I'm finding it impossible to think of a "challenge" to challenge me!

That’s why I’m just making what I normally would make anyways and I’ll just submit some of the nicer stuff. If it ends up being only weave samples, then so be it!

Also: djgm, that shirt is pretty awesome dude.

I don’t know if This is okay, but I would like to post This here.

https://www.facebook.com/Karpeth/posts/10155089972586246

I just finished a silver necklace.

The reason I won’t don’t go out of My way here, is because, even though My part of the work has been Done in the plast few days, the Sheet part of the necklace was made at least 2 years before I was born, as Well as major part of the chain.

I submitted it to the gallery queue, as Well.

The story is; My late grandfather passed away 30 years ago, before I was even born.

He and I shared a hobby, ”Maille”. His last project was not finished, when he passed, And I recently got his rings and tools.

This piece is assembled from his last batch of ”finsilver”; (999,9‰ pure silver, 1mm WD)
He had made several pieces of Byzantine, and 1 part byzantine Sheet, and rings. This piece is made from all rings of ID 3,4mm he left me, as Well as 10 3,0mm ID rings, used for connections.

My part in This is the graduated segments, and the connections and extensions of the Byzantine.

I know This is outside the usual scope, but, what ever.

I mostly wanted to share the story behind This piece. If it doesn’t qualify, I take no offence, and I Will just wait for it to be approved in the gallery.

Edit: as per request, the image host was changed. There is still a story accompanied in the Facebook post.

My fault.

I should use a better host.

(But it was just a combination of timing; me finishing that piece and This contest having a lax theme. Were I to make a more ”rule following” entry, I would not use FB as host.)

Ok. Just remember that your entry probably won’t be accepted if the image doesn’t appear in your post, as per rule 3.

I think it is fairly certain I won't be entering this one after all. Not unless I can whip up something spectacular in the next few days. (sigh)

I also will probably not be entering after all. I've spent the time since this contest started working on big pieces that won't be done for months.

I finished these a few days go. Small adjustments on a few closures were made post photography.

These are all made with My grandfathers last silver; fine silver, 1mm WD.

First out is a bracelet; I had a few requests for a bracelets in 2011. I never got around to making a fine silver bracelt in HP4-1, but I decided that I had to make it, so I could say to those wanting to but them that I could offer them now. ID uncertain; personally handwound on a 4,5mm Gamebit bit, (”3/0” saw?)

Second; earring in J4-1C. My grandfather made ”too many” small rings. AR 2.4 give a very small group of weaves to work with. 180 rings. (And a hanging in byz (AR 3.Uber

Third, hoodoo Bracelet. My grandfather left me ”too many” 3.0 AR rings. These were enough for a bracelet. (2 2.4 rings and 1 3.8 used to make the clasping fit.)

Fourth is a length of Byzantine. 3.8AR. Powerwound on a 3.5mm Mandrel. (Unlike the wire in the bracelet, the Springback was too High to fit with the bracelet, and the temper was much harder) (3/0 saw?). As part of the wire already was wound to these specs, I thought I’d expand on them; a byz necklace might be the result.

Fifth are the last 2.4 rings. 72 rings are not enough to make bigger than 1 cell cubes, or to make the step from 4-cell to 9-cell, so these might end up as earrings.

I don’t know How one would count My entries.

The first necklace is submitted with the story, but is not fully rule-abiding.
The final 5 images are made fully within the rules.

Are these 3, 4, 5, or 6 submissions?
