Legba, You should know that Blue Buddah buys a lot of her rings directly from TRL. She's the one who sent me over to them when I needed more quantity for a lower price. Smile I still buy from her though, when I can.

Talia!!! Your directions worked perfectly!!!! A bit hard to do with the smaller ring size I was using, but doable once I found the right size center ring. I couldn't go smaller than D20 or 3.2mm, without losing my mind. LOL Thank you sooooo much!!!!! This is going to make a great piece when I'm finished. I just need to make more center ring sizes.
Awesome! Don't forget to post pics!

A little more info here... this is a weave that Colin Mahler came up with - I took a class from her a couple of weeks ago in which she taught it, and I believe it's an original design of hers (although obviously based on Byzantine).

Yes, I know. The weave was featured at one of the Workshops at this year's Bead & Button show. I really wanted know how to do that weave but couldn't attend the show and there was no tutorial. Thanks to the wonderful people here who reversed engineered it, I'm now going Byzantine Diamond crazy. LOL I wish I could have been there to learn from Colin herself. Of course, my ring sizes and gauges are only guesses which is why they're not quite coming out as nice as hers.

Do you know if she has a tutorial for this weave?

I bet she doesn't buy all her rings from TRL.

I wouldn't so much call it reverse engineering, but rather the genius of Talia. Very Happy

I may be able to do a tutorial of this this week. I just have to remember to take photos.

I've practiced on a couple and I have the ring sizes right - they worked per the ring sizes Lorraine listed in the gallery thread. I just didn't take pics its 2:00am when I tried it and even tho I'm the only one home - me being tired means the photos will be blurry as hell even if I use auto-focus.

If someone beats me to the tutorial with pics would someone PM me and let me know - I'll be in & out all week getting ready for the show.

OK i'm out...goal is 2 more hp4in1 bracelets before I sleep.

Well, I finally managed to complete a pair of earrings and a bracelet using this weave. The bracelet is red and purple made from Aluminum. Haven't taken a photo of it yet but the Niobium earrings came out great. I had to use silver for the center ring since I couldn't find the right ring size in Niobium but that's okay, it looks gorgeous anyway. In case you're wondering, I've got Adventurine tube beads handing from it. They look so pretty with the blues and greens of the "Air Mix" niobium from Blue Buddah.

Thank you all for help with this pattern!

The referenced big ring is what the four segments of half byzantine hang off of.
