Huh, there's a character limit for thread headers. Had to abbreviate the weave.

Hmm, that's an interesting-looking weave. I wonder how stiff it is, whether it would be suited for a necklace or not. (Yes, yes, I'm into jewellery, not armour) Uber

Some possible related weaves include:
Endo
Velo
Power Line
Hour Glass Unit

I'd best describe it as an alternating half-HGU staggered upon itself. Endo and Velo are other methods of chaining this half-HGU.

I was able to make two samples tonight. I have a picture if interested.

I used 14 swg 1/2" with an AR of 6.9 - pretty loose in my opinion

I also used 16 swg 3/8" with an AR of 6.1 - tighter, more bunched together

Agreed. I just made one at AR of 7.1 and it is... loose enough to look sloppy.
Since they're both half-HGUs, Endo probably holds a better set of AR information (which lists min at AR of 5.2).

That being said, after constructing it... it is clear that we can use multiple ring sizes to make it look similar but act much nicer. Less vertical bulk and an interesting accordion-style interaction (it can expand/squish in the chain direction).

Another weave study weave now has a tutorial, thanks again to thearmourman: Interconnected 2 in 2 Orbital Unit Chain Weave Tutorial (CGI).

Tell a mailler what ring sizes to use and they'll weave for a day. Teach them AR and they'll weave forever.

Pictures are always helpful. Smile The weave entry currently has none in the gallery.
