I started yesterday in an attempt to make a wallet chain with stainless steel 16G 5/16". I'm finding the weave extremely tight. I know this weave since I've made it before and can't figure out what's wrong. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dena.

I usually make Full Persian 6 in 1 with BA 16g SWG 5/16; AR a little over 5 and it does fine.

I don't work with SS so, I don't know how the ARs differ there. If yours is tight, then I'd go up to a ring with a larger AR.

The sample on the weave info page says - "Sample uses stainless steel rings, .063", 5/16" Actual AR is 5.5"

Good luck!

The rings may be mislabeled. Or the rings may be slightly smaller than what you are used to because they are from a different production run or a different supplier. Do you have some calipers so you can verify the wire diameter and the inner diameter of the rings? 16swg 5/16" in stainless steel should give you an AR of about 5.2. That will give you a tight but weaveable Full Persian.

Thank you for your advice and suggestions. I do have a pair of calipers and will check the ID. This is just really strange because I can barely get the pliers in to close the rings. Thanks again for your help.
