That chain does not appear to me to be made of circular rings, or even anything reasonably termed maille.
To me, it just looks like some fancy chain made of peculiar linkages made of interlocked loops at one end and some mechanism I can't identify at the other.

You may have to ask Myles Kennedy where he bought it.

It does look somewhat like Byzantine but it's not chainmaille, it's some kind of machine made wallet chain. I don't think you'll find an "official" name for it here, because it's not maille, it's not made out of rings.

That's a chain, but it's not chain mail. If you would like to make something that looks similar, check out Byzantine.

I spoke with him in Florence a few years ago and he told me that he had bought that chain in a shop in L.A. in 2003/2004 but he could not remember the name...

What a pity Sad

PS: according to you, what words can I use to be able to search that chain on Google?

It's a chain done like this except with separate pieces for each side.

If you take 2 or more elastics and loop them together, this is what you get. With embellishments. Loop one through the other, and you'll see what I mean. I've made something similar, but much smaller and more delicate with silver jumprings.

It's a chain made of reef knots.

A quick Google search turns up several similar examples but you'll never find an "official" name simply because there isn't anyone who officially names these things.
