Triple interwoven?

In one of those sleep-deprived "whatif" moments, I made a piece on interwoven 4-1. I then took the top sheet of 4-1 and tried to interweave THAT, to make three layers woven together. I instead wound up with a 5.5 AR brick that resembled the love child of a cheese grater and a half melted candy bar. Is there a way to pull off triple interwoven with decent flexibility?

My first guess would be to use a higher AR... Cutters

Craft isn't cheaper than therapy, but it's more fun.
