Shoe Laces (Straps?)

After destroying my jungle boots on a trip to Israel this winter, I treated myself to some new boots. What better way to show off my love of mail with some chainmail boot laces?

This was going to be my entry for the contest, until I had to use a larger ring to fit through the grommets on the boots. Evil or Very Mad

Weave: Elf Weave Braid
Rings: 16g 1/4" black, green, and rubber for braids. 16g 3/8" for attachment points at the boot grommets.
Woven the 1-1 chain way with rubber as every other one in the chain, then stitched together. Each strap stretches just enough so I can slide my foot in the boots.

Since hearing a Nancy Sinatra clip the other day on the CBC that's been stuck in my head on repeat and looking at your boots the following came to me.

"These boot-laces are made for stretching and that's just what they'll do.
One of these days I'm gonna, lace my boots like you!"

Sadly the song is still stuck in my head... and that should also confirm that I am not an Ad Writer.

Great idea, I'm going to pass on the lace uppers but otherwise I'm going to have to give that a shot.

Ahhh, I'm gonna have to lace my boots like you to get this song out of my head...

Shoe laces, lol. What a great idea that I never thought of before, awesome work! I want to try this, but I'm not sure it would be durable enough for my actual work boots. I'll have to find some other shoes laying around that I can play with...

Very nicely done! That is a great idea, but be careful you might be telling us a little to much with your metal and lace boots. Very Happy

Thanks for all the comments. I though about doing them in byz, but I just don't like how it looks all that much, to be honest. Glad you all enjoyed the idea anyway.

@MusicMan, with such a repetitive/time consuming hobby, wouldn't you agree that we're all a bit masochistic? Coif LoL
