Hello all, I haven't been around for a while but I thought I'd share a recent project that's been 10 years in the making and also the reason I originally got into chainmail. This is a customized model horse with 12th century style armor and dress. It's a colaborative effort that I started 10 years ago and just recently finished. I made the chainmail armor and the linen cloak with black boarder and my girlfriend customized the model horse and made the saddle and bridle.

Chainmail stats: 20ga. Galvi off a 1/8" mandrel. You can see in the pictures that the back chainmail blinket has a darker patina and that is what I started 10 years ago. My first project in chainmail made me sick of it because of how long it took me to make this blinket! I took a few years off and started up again with small, quick projects Smile. Then 6 months ago my girlfriend and I decided to try and finish it for a model competition that was this past July. I was unable to get the same patina on the front because of time constraints but the overall look is quite pleasing. We got 3 place in our division and were happy with that Smile.

Model is 10" high

The name Destrier is a term used for a horse that was trained specifically for war or tournament.

Thanks guys Smile My plan is to do a brass/gold and maybe a copper version too. Hopefully those won't take me 10 years to do!
