Not sure if this is in the right spot....

I mentioned in another post about girly maille. A friend suggested I prop my pieces up at the farmer's market. I currently do not have the funds to buy the nice prefab ones.

Any ideas on what I could do until then?

You can also make a bracelet display by wrapping an empty paper towel tube (stuffed with something to make it stronger) with some black fabric and drape the bracelets over it. You can cut out some cardboard in the shape of the necklace displays you see being sold and then cut some of the same black fabric to cover it with. (Hot glue guns come in handy.) The screening with a wooden frame that chao mentioned is excellent for displaying earrings.

I believe there are a few articles that give some tuts on how to make displays for jewelry, although I'm not sure what category they would be located in. Possibly search articles for "display"?

Another thing to do is go get some of the styrofoam cones (or other shapes) that they sell at the craft store and cover that with fabric. Then you can use them to display bracelets and such. I poked pins in mine and used them to display christmas ornaments.

For half-moon bracelet forms, get a length of large PVC pipe, cut it to the right length, and then cut it in half lengthwise. After all the cutting is down you can then cover the forms with fabric.

Insistence is futile.

well now, that's clever.

perhaps all of this should be aggregated into an article after awhile..

for any past / future posters, do you mind if i copypasta your post into an article and submit it under the "mailartisans" member?

cause, you know, this stuff is gold.
