it would be nice to be able to comment on gallery images if for no other reason than we have started using the gallery as a way to augment original submission weave images.

Yes, I would find that very useful.

Well the original intention was maybe augmentation of the weave library with reference pieces for the weave DB. But it has turned out having become a 'showcase' library, at least in large parts. So MAYBE this fact could be reflected by the type of comments that are allowd for the respective library parts, so the rules aren't so harsh for Gallery comments.

But I remain relatively firm in my opinion, that 'claqueur' comments should be not have a place there and go where they belong - to the forum. But if a mainly technical/informative comment is here or then a bit 'spiced' with a hidden praise, there's surely nothing wrong with. The decision about should be handled by the 'comment moderators', on a casual basis, and finding PRACTICAL allowable limits and a rule set for decisions is a TBD affair in the beginning, that imho cannot be finalized before in practical use.

Human societies are like chain mail.
A single link will be worth nothing.
A chain is of use, but will break at the weakest link.
A weak weave will have the need to replace weak links.
A strong weave will survive even with weak links included.
