Hey Folks,
Just a quick heads up that I have removed the option for you to use Raw HTML in your User Information fields, as well as in your Board Signature...
This is due to potential security concerns (not that any REAL users would be malicious, but since the recent spam-outbreaks I've been a little security paranoid...)
Never fear, links, etc will still be available to you through the use of BBCode in your sigs and userinfo.
Existing Sigs & Userinfo using HTML is under a 'grandfather' clause... That is, it will continue to work until the next time you update your userinfo... At which point, the HTML tags will be stripped down to raw text.
Random other note: Once I update the forums to phpBB3, the option of using HTML in your usersig will be removed permenantly... So you may want to consider swapping over from HTML to BBCode sooner rather than later.
Thanks folks
Sorry for any inconvenience... But I suspect that you all know how to use BBCode by now

A single link will be worth nothing.
A chain is of use, but will break at the weakest link.
A weak weave will have the need to replace weak links.
A strong weave will survive even with weak links included.

LOL, someone should suggest the author update the Article to use BBCode
Or perhaps it's time for Maille Code 3.0 to match MAIL 3.0

<grin> But as you can see, I got no problem to convert my sig to include bbcode instead formerly html - I just used the the bbcode '[url=' linking instead of the principally better '[article=' linking to stay within the maille code's guidelines - but in case these were changed, I had not the slightest problems to change over to stay conform...

I guess I'm not going to have a signature anymore. I'm apparently too stupid to figure out BBCode.

Why? Yours looks fairly ok. If you had used pure html fomatting, it would show up. Maybe you should think about changing the 'Maille Code's underlying link, from forum discussion to the article (like I did). But else: I don't see anything wrong.

Thanks Zili. It took me about a half an hour to get it right. I finally gave up and found an HTML to BBCode generator on Google and did it that way and it seems to work now. I tried to figure it out on my own, but couldn't get it.

I don't know how to make my signature text smaller though. I tried the [size] tag but it didn't like that.

If you have a look at the code that using the size tag generates by using the font size pulldown (use preview when editing a forum post), you may notice that numerical values for 'tiny' to 'huge' are generated, with a stepping larger than one - but inbetween numerical values are valid BBCode as well. As I didn't like any of these offered standard sizes, I used size=11 - the result is visible in my signature, that has a slight but distinctive font size difference to the post's text.

| Are the BBCodes listed on the link provided the only BBCodes supported by M.A.I.L.? I tried using to strike out some text previously, but it didn't display correctly. |

| I have no signature (mostly bcause i'm just to lazy to make one, i love signatures ^^) and just wanted to say that this is great. I don't think that it is paranoid to sarch for the best way to keep everyone save - so keep up seeing danger in every code-corner DL ^^ |
