I have had great success in finding wire through industrial supply stores (such as McMaster-Carr, and Grainger). In my experiences with these types of stores they have most if not all items in stock at all times, great selection, varying quantities, sizes, tempers, finishes, and metals. Many of these stores have regional distribution centers so shipping costs are usually low and sometimes you can even find one close enough to pick it up yourself. They deal with companies of all sizes so you don't need to worry about having to buy a 1000' reel of bronze wire when all you need at the time is less than 100'.
