Full Persian 6 in 1
(from CGMaille)
Article © MAIL User: Phong

Full Persian 6 in 1 is a weave that imitates the look and feel of rope. Full Persian takes an AR of AR of 5.5 and up.

Step 1: Close 4 rings and put them on two other rings. Lay them out so they make a 2-2-2 chain. Pre-open 2 rings, but don't weave them yet.

Step 1a: Spread the rightmost 2 rings apart, and slide the leftmost 2 rings forward and between the spread rings. Spread the right end of the middle pair of rings open. It's tricky to hold them like this, so move right on to...

Step 2: Pass the 2 pre-opened rings between the middle rings from the previous step. The new rings should go through the eye formed by the right- and leftmost rings from the previous step. Make sure the new rings don't end up connected to the middle rings.

Step 3: Put 2 rings through the rings you just added, one on either side of the vertical rings.

Note: You can repeat steps 2 and 3 to finish the chain. Once you get a hang of it, you can move on to the speed weaving technique. The speed weaving technique may not work with tight AR's, in which case just use Steps 2 & 3.

Step 4: Close 2 rings and put them on an open ring. Pass the (horizontal) open ring between the spread (horizontal) rings, and through the eye formed by the 2 pairs of (vertical) rings. Arrange the new vertical rings so there's one on either side of the old vertical rings.

Step 5: Pass an open ring through the eye and the 2 closed rings from the previous step.

Now just repeat Steps 4 & 5 (or 2 & 3) until you finish the chain.
